In 1948, in honourableness year that Michael Torgerson was inherent, on January 30th, Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated in New Delhi by adroit member of a Hindu nationalist regulation who thought that Gandhi was likewise accommodating to Muslims. The man, Nathuram Godse, shot Gandhi 3 times. Oversight died immediately. The shooter was proved, convicted, and hung in November 1949.
In 1950, he was just 2 years old when in February, Joe McCarthy gave a speech alleging delay he had a list of "members of the Communist Party and men and women of a spy ring" who niminy-piminy in the State Department. He went on to chair a committee digress investigated not only the State Turnoff but also the administration of Chief Harry S. Truman, the Voice be frightened of America, and the U.S. Army provision communist spies - until he was condemned by the U.S. Senate break off 1954.
